Start here

Abuja Life is a multiplayer life sim set on the real map of Abuja. You make a character, pick a hustle, find somewhere to stay, and live a second Abuja life alongside everybody else who is online.

The basics

  • Opens 20 October 2026. Everyone on the waitlist gets an email the moment the gates open.
  • Plays in your browser, on your phone or your laptop. Nothing to download.
  • Free to play. You can play without spending a kobo.
  • The demo on the home page is a small taste: one player, the real map, stand-in voices. The game itself is everybody at once.

Real voice, up close

Planned for launch

Talking is how people meet in Abuja Life. Your character has a voice, and it's yours.

How it works

  • Your mic reaches the people near you and nobody else. Stand at the bar and the bar hears you. The street outside does not.
  • Volume follows distance. Walk closer and you get louder. Walk away and you fade out.
  • Places have sound too. You hear a club's DJ from the street before you get to the door, and it gets louder with every step.
  • You're in control. Mute yourself, mute one person, or switch voice off completely.

Try it now Demo

In the demo, walk up to people and they talk. The closer you stand, the louder they are. Their voices are stand-ins for real players. The mic button shows your own level and nothing is recorded or sent.

Your phone & live rooms

Planned for launch

Voice is for whoever is standing next to you. Your phone is for everybody else. Every character carries one, and it's where texting happens.

How rooms work

  • A room is a live group chat. Anyone can open one, and anyone can come in and follow the conversation as it happens, the way you'd watch a live.
  • Only 10 people can talk at a time. Everybody else in the room follows along.
  • The first person in is the manager. Get there first and the room is yours to run.
  • The manager picks moderators. They help keep the room in order.

What people will use them for

  • Gist after the club, when everybody has gone home.
  • Campaign rooms in election week.
  • A DJ taking requests before a set, or an agent showing a duplex to ten buyers at once.

Governor of the Week

Planned for launch

Every week, Abuja elects a governor. There is no online poll and no shortcut: people cast their votes at polling units, in person, like a real election.

How a week goes

  1. Declare. Players who want the seat put their names forward.
  2. Campaign. Rallies at Eagle Square, rooms on the phone, promises at the suya spot. Talk to people where they are.
  3. Vote. When the polls open, you walk to a polling unit and cast your vote. One player, one vote.
  4. Count. The results are public.
  5. Govern. The winner is Governor of the Week for seven days. Then the seat is open again.

Polling units

Polling units are places on the map. In the demo you can already find three: beside Cage in Wuse 2, by Eagle Square, and in Gwarinpa.

What the governor gets

  • The title, next to their name, for the whole week.
  • The convoy. Sirens, black SUVs, nobody slowing down. You'll see it pass in the demo.

Still being decided: how much real power the office should carry. Waitlist members will be asked before launch.

Clubs & nightlife

Planned for launch

Wuse 2 is where Abuja comes out at night, and the clubs stand on the streets where you'd find them in real life.

A night out

  • Hear it before you see it. Every club plays its own sound, and it carries into the street.
  • Queue at the door, get your table, spray money. Voice does the rest.
  • Player DJs play the big rooms. Build a crowd from your crib first (see Go live).
  • Venues can be claimed by their real owners, who then run them (see Claim your business).
🏁

Drift & cars

Planned for launch

Eagle Square after midnight. Tune your whip, burn rubber, and pull a crowd.

What's on the road

The cars you actually see in Abuja. Start small, upgrade loud, or just flag down a painted taxi.

Getting around Demo

In the demo, open the map and tap any stop. A green cab takes you there.

Jobs

Planned for launch

Every job has a workplace on the map, skills to level up and a payday in naira. Pick one, or stack two.

  • Tech bro. Wuse 2, or anywhere with light. Dollar clients, Abuja rent.
  • Makeup artist. Studios in Wuse and Gwarinpa. Bridal glam and owambe faces.
  • Civil servant. Federal Secretariat. Climb from Level 8 to Director.
  • Contractor. Central Area. Chase the contract, deliver the job, wait for payment.
  • Senator's PA. Three Arms Zone. Carry the bag, hold the phone, know everybody who matters.
  • DJ. Cage, BBR, Magic City, Oso. From your crib to the big rooms.
  • Cab driver. All over town. Know every shortcut.
  • Suya master. Wuse 2 by night. The queue is your salary.
  • Estate agent. Maitama, Asokoro, Gwarinpa. Close the deal, collect your ten percent.
  • Doctor or nurse. National Hospital. Long shifts, real respect.
  • Banker. Central Bank and the Central Area. Targets, ties and month-end pressure.
  • Fashion designer. Wuse Market, or your own studio. Asoebi season never ends.

More jobs land with the game. Pay differs from job to job: the ₦ marks on the home page show how they compare.

₦

Naira & the ABJ token

The money in Abuja Life is naira. You earn it by playing and you spend it on your life in the game.

Earning and spending Planned for launch

  • Earn from your job, DJ gigs, rent from your tenants, and your business.
  • Spend on your home, your car, and your nights out.
  • In the demo, the naira you pick up on the street shows the idea. It doesn't carry over to the game.

Crypto Coming soon

  • Convert in-game naira to the ABJ token and withdraw it to your own wallet.
  • Top up by buying the ABJ token and converting it into in-game naira.

In-game naira is game currency, not legal tender. Token conversion, top-ups and withdrawals are planned features: rates, availability and eligibility will be published before they go live. Earnings depend on how you play and aren't guaranteed. Nothing here is financial advice.

Homes & property

Planned for launch

Everybody starts from somewhere. Where you end up is up to you.

  • Rent, buy or build. From self-con in Lugbe to a duplex in Maitama.
  • Furnish am, flex am. Your place is yours to set up and show off.
  • Become the landlord. Own property and collect rent from your tenants.
  • Your crib is your base. It's where your car is parked and where you go live from.
πŸ“‘

Go live from your crib

Planned for launch

You don't need a club to have a crowd. DJ or stream from your own apartment and let people pull up.

  • Build your crowd from your room, one stream at a time.
  • Book gigs at real venues once people know your name.
  • Get paid in naira for the gigs you play.

In the demo, the crib in Gwarinpa is already live. Take a cab there and have a look.

πŸͺ

Claim your business

Planned for launch

Own a club, restaurant, lounge or shop in Abuja? It gets a twin in the game, and you can claim it before someone else does.

  • Verify that you own it and take control of the in-game version.
  • Earn rent and revenue from in-game events, tenants and visitors.
  • Run promos that bring real customers to your real door.
  • Book player DJs and host branded nights.

How to claim

Join the waitlist as a Business owner and tell us the name of your business. We'll contact you to verify ownership before launch.

πŸ›‘

Block, mute, report

Planned for launch

A city full of real voices needs real controls. They are one tap away, on any player.

  • Block. They're gone. They can't see you, hear you, or follow you.
  • Mute. Stop hearing one person without leaving the conversation.
  • Report. Flag anyone who's out of line.
  • Rooms police themselves. Every room has a manager and the moderators they choose.
  • Voice is optional. You can switch it off completely.

In the demo, tap any person to mute or block them.

The real map

Try it now

The city in Abuja Life is built from the real street map. The roads are Abuja's roads, Jabi Lake has its real shoreline, and each place stands at its real spot, on its own street.

Good to know

  • Buildings and roads are drawn larger than life, so a place sits as close to its real spot as the scale allows, always beside its real road.
  • The map in the demo has two views: the city centre and the whole city. Every pin is on the place's real position.
